The Blaze field teams ranging in age from 10 and under through 18 years old. The Blaze is a nationally
recognized program and has played at the highest levels of statewide and national competitions in
California, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Illinois, Louisiana, and more.
Blaze players strive to earn athletic scholarships to play college softball and achieve higher education. This
is the ultimate goal of most Blaze players; but, by no means, is it the only goal. Fostering a strong mind,
body, and spirit through athletic competition is paramount. Promoting healthy lifestyles among our players
and creating community leaders also are Blaze priorities.
Blaze teams’ list of noteworthy accomplishments include: finishing eighth in the prestigious Amateur
Softball Association (ASA) national tournament; winning the Gold bracket of the Colorado Sparkler
Tournament; 3rd place at 2010 Colorado Independence; three time ASA Gold National appearances; three
time 16u ASA National appearances; winning the ASA Hall of Fame Qualifier; finishing 13th at ASA 18U
“Gold” Nationals; and finishing 17th at 16U ASA “A” Nationals. These are just some of our
accomplishments. All Blaze teams routinely record top finishes throughout the greater Centex region and
the State.
Continuing to achieve our goals and history of excellence is costly. Blaze operating costs include, among
other things: two 6,000 sq. ft indoor training facilities, team insurance, tournament entry fees, umpire fees,
field rental fees, equipment and uniform costs, and modest salaries and wages for our professional coaches
and admin staff. The primary source for paying these costs is the players’ families, which comes from
player dues. In addition to these costs, players’ families pay travel expenses, including hotel, dining and
other related expenses. Blaze fundraisers help defray some of these costs and expenses, but they amount to
only a fraction of the organization’s total income.
That is why the Blaze is seeking sponsorships and/or charitable contributions from companies and
individuals such as you. Charitable donations make it possible for the Blaze to continue to offer its players
and their families the ability to represent Central Texas in some of the finest girls’ fastpitch softball
tournaments throughout Texas and the rest of the country. Since 2008, the Texas Blaze has helped 41
athletes with their goal of playing collegiate softball--- So won’t you please support the Blaze with a taxdeductible
sponsorship or contribution?
Checks should be made payable to “Texas Blaze” and mailed to the above address, along with a copy of
this letter. Any questions may be directed to the Blaze President at the phone number listed above. Also, if
you would like to make a specific donation on behalf of a particular Blaze team or player, please indicate
that as well.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
JB Slimp
