Here is what we call “Bat Lag” position. This is the first time the bat barrel should be on plane of pitch, if it happens sooner than the barrel is dropping too early---which is very common in young hitters.

In this Blog we will discuss hitting concepts which can be used to better a players mechanics and performance at the plate.
If you are one that has heard or believes that fastpitch and baseball swings are different than I would like to present to you that
when we view pictures and video we see that the swings of elite hitters are basically the same in terms of mechanics.
You can see in this picture of two pro fastpitch players and two MLB players that they look almost identical at the point of contact.
This would also be true in all the other important phases of the swing.
